Stay connected for news and updates

The format for the rookie-sophomore game has changed for 2012, but the game will still feature some of the best first- and second-year players in the NBA. The difference this year is that they'll be mixed together -- the two teams were selected via a draft similar to the one conducted by the NHL to decide its All-Star teams.

Charles Barkley was responsible for building "Team Chuck," while Shaquille O'Neal drafted "Team Shaq." O'Neal had the first pick, and not surprisingly, he took Blake Griffin of the Clippers. He also nabbed Jeremy Lin.

Barkley picked up Kyrie Irving, who may be on his way to Rookie of the Year honors, as well as DeMarcus Cousins and John Wall.
