Stay connected for news and updates

The Denver Nuggets are in prime position to win their second straight game. Denver takes a 86-70 lead against the Steve Nash-less Phoenix Suns into the fourth quarter on Tuesday at the Pepsi Center behind strong efforts from starting guards Arron Afflalo and Ty Lawson.

Afflalo has 20 points after three quarters on 7-of-10 shooting from the field. Lawson has been every bit as good, finishing the quarter with 17 points and five assists. The only other Denver player in double figures is Chris Andersen. The Birdman came off the bench to post 10 points and six rebounds through three quarters.

Without Nash, former Bucks gunner Michael Redd has put together a throw-back game. Redd has 20 points through three quarters, which includes three makes in four tries from downtown. Rookie Markieff Morris has 17 points for Phoenix off the bench.
