The string on injuries hitting the Denver Nuggets continued on Saturday night when Nene left the court against the Indiana Pacers with a calf strain, reports HoopsWorld. He is expected to miss a few games. Nene had 11 points and five rebounds in 22 minutes before he was forced from the game.
The Nuggets play three games during the week, one at home against the Phoenix Suns and then on the road against the Dallas Mavericks and the Memphis Grizzlies. He might sit out all three of those so he can be ready for Sunday's game against the Oklahoma City Thunder, the first meetup between the two teams this season. It is ESPN's Sunday Night Game of the Week.

The Denver Nuggets snapped a five-game losing streak on Saturday night by defeating the Indiana Pacers, 113-109, but it didn't make much of a dent in the Northwest division standings. The Nuggets trail the Oklahoma City Thunder by 5.5 games for the division lead.
Still, the Nuggets remain in second place for the time being. The Portland Trail Blazers are a game behind the Nuggets while the Utah Jazz are 1.5 games out of second place. Minnesota became the latest team to be on the wrong end of a Jeremy Lin performance, losing to the New York Knicks, 100-98.
If one is already playoff gazing, the Nuggets are currently the No. 6 team in the Western Conference. However, teams 4-8 are all within a game of each other. The Los Angeles Lakers and the Trail Blazers are the two teams behind the Nuggets in the playoff standings.

The Denver Nuggets ended its five-game losing streak by defeating the Indiana Pacers on Saturday night, 113-109. Ty Lawson scored 27 points in the victory, hitting on 10-of-17 shots from the field. He pulled down three boards, dished the ball out for two assists and stole the rock twice.
Arron Afflalo put in 23 points on 8-of-11 shooting and hit on two free throws with eight seconds left in the game, creating a wide enough gap to breathe a little easier in the closing seconds of the game. Corey Brewer returned to the lineup after missing the last three games to return home to deal with his father's death. He chipped in 19 points and five rebounds.
The Nuggets took advantage of 20 Indiana turnovers, but then made just two-thirds of them (22-of-33). The Pacers, though, shot 53.2 percent from the field. David West connected on 10-of-11 shots for 22 points. He grabbed seven rebounds. Danny Granger had a team-high 26 points.
The Nuggets (16-12, 9-5 away) are off until Tuesday when they host the Phoenix Suns.
