The Sacramento Kings won't have starting shooting guard Marcus Thornton when they face the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday night, according to Nuggets beat writer Aaron J. Lopez. Thornton is still recovering from a hematoma in his left thigh.
Thornton, 24, has started all 14 games that he's appeared in with the Kings this season. He's averaged 16.4 points per game on 40 percent shooting, while also grabbing 3.5 boards and 1.5 steals per night. One of Sacramento's feature scorers, he's averaged 19.6 points per game in 41 games with the Kings since being traded to them in the middle of last season.
With Thornton not playing, the Kings may start Donte Green at small forward again with John Salmons sliding over to shooting guard. Salmons typically starts at small forward when Thornton is active and playing.
