Denver Nuggets guard Rudy Fernandez has been bothered by lingering soreness in his strained right Achilles tendon, and after he had to leave in the second quarter of Sunday's game against Utah, he is day-to-day as he tries to rest the foot.

According to this report from the Nuggets, Fernandez probably will not play in the team's game on Tuesday night.

"It’s feeling better, but every day when I start to run, when I start to jump, it’s bothering me," Fernandez said Monday. "We’ll see with the treatment what happens."

Fernandez, who is averaging 8.5 points and 3.5 assists per game, would not speculate on a potential return date. He also said that Denver's hectic schedule probably contributed to the injury -- Denver opened the season with nine games in 13 days.
