2011 NBA Draft: Colorado's Cory Higgins To Participate In Pre-Draft Workout

Stay connected for news and updates

While Colorado Buffaloes guard Alec Burks has declared for the draft and is a likely lottery selection, his teammate Cory Higgins will attempt to work his way into the second round. As part of that, Higgins will be one of 44 players to participate in a pre-draft combine (of sorts) this Saturday and Sunday in New Jersey because the Nets, the Houston Rockets and the New York Knicks are hosting the workout.

None of these players is a big-time name to the basketball world at large, but a good showing could have teams interested in them during the second round.

Higgins played in 132 games (a school record, as well as his 131 starts) over his four-year career and averaged 15.2 points and 2.4 assists per contest. He averaged a career-best 18.9 points as a junior in 2009-10. Even if he goes undrafted, there will likely be a team willing to bring him into camp in the fall (provided there's no lockout).
