Nuggets Enjoy Blowout Victory Over Charlotte, 120-80

The good times continue to roll for the Denver Nuggets, defeating the Charlotte Bobcats by 40 points on Wednesday night, 120-80. It was such a blowout victory that all 12 men on the roster played in the game. Yes, that's right. Timofey Mozgov and Kosta Koufos saw action on the court. All the players acquired in the Carmelo Anthony trade have now appeared in a game for the Nuggets.

But it was Ty Lawson who led the team tonight with his double-double (14 points, 10 assists). Wilson Chandler had a team-high 16 points as well as three steals and three blocks. It was a great night around the boards for the team as a whole, grabbing 49 rebounds to the Bobcats' 28. Kenyon Martin and Nene had the team lead with eight boards, while Mozgov (4) and J.R. Smith (6) combined for 10 rebounds off the bench. Smith and Chris Andersen added 14 points each as well. Smith passed 6,000 career points.

As a team the Nuggets outshot the Bobcats 60.8 percent-36.7 percent. Matt Carroll led Charlotte with 19 points on 6-of-11 shooting.

Arron Afflalo had an injured ankle in the first quarter, returned later, but left again in the third quarter to avoid any further injury.

The Nuggets (36-26, 26-7 home) have a quick turnaround as they head to Utah to face the Jazz on Thursday night.

Bobcats Vs. Nuggets: Denver Looks For Fourth Win Since All-Star Break

The Denver Nuggets and the Charlotte Bobcats are both teams that have recently traded their top players: Carmelo Anthony and Gerald Wallace. The Nuggets have gone 3-1 since that time while, the Bobcats are 1-1 after their trade.

The Nuggets will be without Danilo Gallinari for at least the next week as he recovers from an injured big toe. On Monday, Wilson Chandler started in his place and scored 15 points in the 100-90 victory over the Atlanta Hawks. Raymond Felton had 16 points and seven assists off the bench. Timofey Mozgov has yet to see any game action yet. Still, the Nuggets minus 'Melo have played with great energy and even some defense.

The Hawks, meanwhile, are coming off a 100-86 loss to the Orlando Magic. Stephen Jackson scored 35 points to lead the team, but the next highest points total was shared at 11 with Boris Diaw and D.J. Augustin. Back on December 7, 2010, the Bobcats denied George Karl his 1,000th career head coaching victory and sent the Nuggets to a 100-98 loss. But that was with Gerald Wallace and his 20-point, nine-rebound night.

The starts at 7:00 p.m. MT inside the Pepsi Center.
