NBA Cancels Two Weeks Of 2011-12 Season

After seven hours of bargaining, the NBA and the players failed to reach a resolution for a new collective bargaining agreement. As a result, commissioner David Stern announced on Monday night that the first two weeks of the season have been canceled. Apparently, both sides are still far apart on many major issues, reports Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski.

For the Denver Nuggets, this means that they lose the first five games of the regular season. That's two road games (Portland, Lakers) and three games at the Pepsi Center (Golden State, Cleveland, Portland). The longer this stalemate in negotiations proliferates, more games will be canceled. Up next would be a home game against Carmelo Anthony and the New York Knicks, scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 16.

This is the second time in 13 years that regular season NBA games have been missed.
