Report: Nuggets, Nets, Pistons Discussing Mega-Deal For Carmelo Anthony; Chauncey Billups Possibly Included

The New York Post, for what it's worth, reports that the Denver Nuggets, the New Jersey Nets and the Detroit Pistons are discussing a three-team trade centered on the Nuggets' Carmelo Anthony. If this trade is consummated, it is possible that up to 17 players could be involved, though the names of all the players involved are not yet known.

What is known is that the Nuggets would receive the Nets' Derrick Favors, Devin Harris and at least two first-round draft picks. The Nets would receive Anthony and point guard Chauncey Billups from the Nuggets and Rip Hamilton and Terrico White from the Pistons. When more details emerge, it will appear as though the Nets will completely upend their roster.

But as always, even if the teams can work out the players and salaries that need to be moved, Carmelo Anthony would still need to sign a three-year extension for the trade to go through.

That Chauncey Billups is now included in Carmelo Anthony trade discussions could indicate that the Nuggets do not want to bring Billups back for next season. Harris would then be able to team with Ty Lawson at point guard.
