Stay connected for news and updates

The Denver Nuggets were unable to win their fourth straight road victory, dropping a game to the Philadelphia 76ers, 110-99. It was a tough night for Carmelo Anthony, who shot 3-of-12 from the field. He went 2-of-5 from beyond the arc and made all four free throws to finish with 12 points. Chauncey Billups led the team with 27 points, five assists and three rebounds. J.R. Smith contributed 23 points, nine rebounds and three steals from off the bench.

For the Sixers, Andre Iguodala, one of the players mentioned in early Carmelo Anthony trade rumors, scored 24 points, dished the ball out seven times and stole seven balls. Coming off the bench, Thaddeus Young scored 21 points and pulled down seven boards.

The Nuggets (28-19, 8-14 away) head immediately to New Jersey on Jan. 31 to close out the month. They will face the Nets, who pulled out of a proposed Carmelo Anthony mega-deal when Russian owner Mikhail Prokhorov said the deal-making had cost the Nets too much and was not worth pursuing any longer. The Nets are 14-34 this season, already an improvement on last season's 12-70 record.
