Carmelo Anthony scored 18 of his 35 points during the third quarter in Wednesday night's 112-107 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder. He grabbed seven rebounds and stole four balls. Also, he wasn't traded to the New Jersey Nets, who called off the trade in the afternoon. Though after the game, the crowd booed him while he was interviewed.
Chauncey Billups, who would have gone to the Nets in a Carmelo deal, added 16 points and six assists. Nene had 16 points as well and pulled down six boards. Kenyon Martin led the defensive effort with 11 rebounds.
For Oklahoma City, point guard Russell Westbrook led the offensive effort with 28 points and 10 assists. Kevin Durant was only 6-of-18 shooting, but he was a perfect 10-for-10 at the line. He finished with 22 points and four rebounds.
The Nuggets (24-17, 19-4 home) host the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday night. ESPN will televise the game at 8:30 p.m. MT.

Carmelo Anthony is still a member of the Denver Nuggets, and a trade may not happen any time soon, if at all. Hours before tonight's game against the Oklahoma City Thunder (27-14), New Jersey Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov announced that the Nets have pulled out of trade talk with the Nuggets. With the Nets out of the trade picture, Melo's future with the team is still unsettled.
But that's all in the future. Tonight the Nuggets face the Thunder for the second time this season. The Thunder won their Christmas Night contest, 114-106. Kevin Durant scored 44 points in the contest, while Chauncey Billups put up 30 for the Nuggets.
Both teams are coming off losses. The Nuggets loss to the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday night, 110-97, and the Thunder lost to the Los Angeles Lakers, 101-94, on Monday.
Head on over to Denver Stiffs' preview of the game for a breakdown on the Thunder and much more.
