New York Knicks Reportedly Still Angling For Nuggets' Carmelo Anthony

With the proposed Carmelo Anthony-to-New Jersey Nets deal seemingly faltering, the New York Knicks are still looking to trade for the Denver Nuggets' star, according to the NY Daily News. Frank Isola has an idea on what a trade would look like:

A deal for Anthony would likely have to include two of these three starters -- Danilo Gallinari, Wilson Chandler, Landry Fields -- plus Eddy Curry's expiring contract and at least one first-round pick. The Knicks may also have to take on a player with a long-term contract. Al Harrington could be that player.

Al Harrington has been a stumbling block in the Nuggets-Nets-Pistons deal because the Nets do not want to take on the hefty remains of his contract, which was signed back in the summer. The Knicks would also need to find another first-round draft pick to include in the deal.

Gallinari is a 6-foot-10 forward in his third NBA season, averaging 15.3 points. He was the sixth overall pick in 2008. Guard Landry Fields was the ninth pick of the second round in the 2010 draft. His 10.2 points and 7.4 rebounds are an encouraging show of talent for the rookie.

According to all reports, 'Melo's preferred destination is New York, which would make any such deal all but a foregone conclusion.

I like Mayo...

but he isn’t a game changer. He is also in the same mold as seemingly every other Nuggets in the roster. Where will his PT come from? Or who would drop?
