Peyton Manning Talks Struggles, Third Downs

Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos have dropped two games in a row, and in both losses the offense struggled to get churning until later in the game. But comebacks aren't something Manning wants to get accustomed to, and while he said after Sunday's 31-25 loss to the Houston Texans that reviewing game tape will help him make some tweaks, the Broncos must improve their third down situations if they hope to convert them.

Said Manning, via DenverBroncos.com:

"I don't know how many we had, but we weren't very good early on third downs. [We were] probably a little bit better late there in the fourth quarter-got to be able to convert from third downs ... It seems like we had a few more third-and-longs today, and that is kind of playing into Houston's hands."

Manning's quarterback numbers were significantly worse in the two losses compared to the season-opening victory against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Against the Texans, he threw for 330 yards and two touchdowns, but only completed 26-of-52 passes.

That, however, bettered his three-interception performance in Week 2 against the Atlanta Falcons.
