Denver Broncos 2012: Mile High Report Observes Good And Bad From Win

As the Denver Broncos prepare for their first road test Monday night against the Atlanta Falcons, the good folks over at SB Nation Broncos blog Mile High Report have some observations fans might have missed from the Broncos' Week 1 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Topher Doll lists four facets from the win that might have gone overlooked, two good and two bad. First, the bad.

The play-calling from defensive coordinator Jack del Rio left a lot to be desired, as did the lack of leadership on the field while D.J. Williams is suspended. However, the defense was able to adjust on the fly.

Now for the good. While the running game didn't yield four runs a carry, the play-calling on offense was balanced, with a pass/run ratio of 28/27. The no-huddle offense led by Peyton Manning was also effective.

Read Topher Doll's full report for more in-depth analysis.
