— Denver Broncos (@Denver_Broncos) August 6, 2012#Broncos have placed RB Mario Fannin on the injured reserve list (Achilles).
Fannin injured his Achilles tendon one day before the team released its first depth chart of the preseason. Willis McGahee was No. 1, which was never in question, while Lance Ball is the current backup. Ronnie Hillman is in at No. 3, but he is expected to be a bit more than a running back for this team, meaning he'll still get playing time around the field. Knowshon Moreno has fallen to No. 4 on the depth chart.
Fannin would likely have been right behind Moreno and with Xavier Omon. In other words, battling for a spot on the practice squad.
