Denver Broncos defensive end Jason Hunter has torn his triceps muscle and is out for at least two months.

The Denver Broncos have lost defensive end Jason Hunter for at least two months after he tore his triceps muscle on Tuesday, according to the Denver Post's Mike Klis. The injury is expected to sideline Hunter for at least two months and possibly for the entire season. This comes just one day after the team announced that right guard Chris Kuper would miss six weeks due to a broken left forearm.

Hunter, 29 at the end of August, had moved ahead of Robert Ayers on the depth chart and became a starter on the defensive line. Hunter has impressed new defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio since the start of camp and was rewarded for that. Now, that role is very much in doubt. Ayers is currently Elvis Dumervil's backup while rookie Derek Wolfe is behind Hunter.

Broncos defensive tackle Ty Warren tore his triceps muscle in camp last August and missed the entire season. He is healthy and ready to go this season.

Hunter has 148 combined tackles and 11 sacks in his six-year career. He joined the Broncos in 2010 as a linebacker when Josh McDaniels was the head coach, but he was moved back to the line following John Fox's hiring.
