Denver Broncos safety Quinton Carter got tied up with a receiver during practice on Friday and injured his hamstring, albeit not seriously. Denver is calling the injury "day-to-day," but the notorious fickleness of hamstring injuries moved them to sign ex-University of Colorado safety Anthony Perkins, who was in camp on Saturday.
Carter's injury has, according to the Denver Post's Jeff Legwold, thrown Denver's safety rotation into a bit of a lurch. Carter was expected to compete for one of the two safety jobs, and may have been the favorite at strong safety. With him out, the majority of the snaps at safety will go to Rahim Moore and Mike Adams. Moore is a returning second-year pro who appeared in 15 games in 2011, tallying 31 tackles and an interception. Adams started 16 games last year for the Cleveland Browns, but was not re-signed in the offseason.
