Elvis Dumervil's Preliminary Court Date For Aggravated Assault Charges Set For Aug. 16

Stay connected for news and updates

Denver Broncos defensive end Elvis Dumervil is set for a preliminary court hearing in Miami on Aug. 16, when he will appear before a judge in the Miami-Dade County Court system, according to Mike Klis of the Denver Post. Dumervil was arrested over the weekend for allegedly assaulting a driver with a firearm.

There are various reports available that conflict with one another. Dumervil was supposedly displaying a gun in what is being termed a road rage incident while other ones say he wasn't the owner of the gun or the car involved in the incident.

Broncos training camp begins on Thursday, July 26, and Dumervil will be in camp with the rest of his teammates. In 2011, Dumervil recorded 9.5 sacks after missing the entire 2010 season with a torn pectoral muscle. He and second0year linebacker Von Miller will look for another season of solid sack-artistry.
