Malik Jackson Signs Contract With Denver Broncos

The Denver Broncos signed defensive end Malik Jackson, the team's fifth-round pick out of Tennessee in the 2012 NFL Draft, on Friday afternoon:

Jackson has the potential to also play defensive tackle, but he will definitely be a rotational player at defensive end. The Broncos drafted Jackson with the selection the team received from the St. Louis Rams as a result of the Brandon Lloyd trade.

On Thursday, the team signed fourth-round pick CB Omar Bolden to a four-year contract to be the first Broncos rookie to officially join the team.

Broncos Draft Picks 2012: Malik Jackson To Denver In 5th Round

The Denver Broncos used the 137th overall pick of the 2012 NFL Draft on Tennessee Volunteers defensive end Malik Jackson. The Broncos acquired the pick from the St. Louis Rams in the Brandon Lloyd trade back in October. Because Lloyd caught 30 passes for the Rams, the Broncos' initial sixth-round pick moved to a fifth-round pick, second pick of the round.

Jackson, 6 feet 5 and 284 pounds, had 56 total tackles in 2011 with 11.5 tackles for a loss and 2.5 sacks. He had 10.5 sacks over his first three years, including five as a junior in 2010. He could potentially moved between end and tackle, but he will certainly rotate in and out on defense.

Here are the other Broncos picks so far:

Cincinnati DT Derek Wolfe
Arizona St. QB Brock Osweiler
San Diego St. RB Ronnie Hillman
Arizona St. CB Omar Bolden
Baylor C Philip Blake
