S Brian Dawkins, officially retiring as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles this coming Saturday, spoke with the Denver Broncos media on Tuesday. Among his remarks, Dawkins expressed appreciation towards S Mike Adams, who will wear Dawkins' jersey No. 20 in the upcoming season, as well as appreciation for new Broncos QB Peyton Manning, whom Dawkins praised for his knowledge of the game.
Dawkins also spoke briefly on his future, saying he would not take the typical post-NFL route:
Dawkins jokes, "I will never be on Dancing with the Stars."

Dawkins also served as a representative of the NFL Players Association, but will have step down upon his retirement. Asked as to who he thought would replace him on the NFLPA Executive Committee, Dawkins refused to tip his hand. He also discussed his one Super Bowl appearance, saying it would be the only game he would change if he could.
Asked about his decision to live in Denver after his retirement, Dawkins claimed to be as surprised as the fans:
Dawkins said it was a "pleasant surprise" to discover Denver as a permanent home for his family. "This is a beautiful place."

And was it the slopes that kept him in Colorado? Probably not:
Even though he'll be staying in Colorado, skiing / snowboarding isn't for him. His son broke his wrist in a snowboard lesson.
