Tim Tebow Trade: Denver Receives 4th Round And 6th Round Picks

Stay connected for news and updates

The Denver Broncos will be receiving a fourth-round pick and a sixth-round pick from the New York Jets in exchange for quarterback Tim Tebow and a seventh-round pick, according to Mike Klis of the Denver Post. The move completes the quarterback transition in Denver to the recently-signed Peyton Manning, who will now lead John Fox's offense.

It should actually be considered a fairly strong return for Denver, as many in the media suggested that it was more likely for the Broncos to receive a single pick in the fifth or sixth rounds. New York wasn't considered a major contender to acquire the former Florida Gator's services, but they clearly think that he can add an interesting layer to their offense.

The move also sends a signal that the Jets aren't entirely comfortable with going forward solely committed to incumbent starting quarterback Mark Sanchez. Sanchez recently signed a three-year extension in New York after a disappointing season.
