2012 NFL Mock Draft: Denver Broncos Pick Up Solid Talent In 5-Round Mock

We're just a few days away from the 2012 Super Bowl determining the final two draft spots between the New York Giants and the New England Patriots. But for the Denver Broncos, they have known for several weeks that they will hold the No. 25 overall selection in the first round. Over at Mocking the Draft, SB Nation's NFL draft blog, we are presented with a quick pre-Super Bowl mock draft.

In Round 1, the Broncos select Virginia cornerback Chase Minnifield, a decent pick, but defensive tackles such as Devon Still and Michael Brockers would seem to be a bet fit at that point. Round 2 follows with running back Doug Martin, a solid player who has likely worked his way into the back end of the first round in some scouts' views. In the third round, the Broncos address the defensive tackle need with Jared Crick, which makes the first pick a bit more palatable.

The Broncos go the FCS route in the fourth round with Tennessee Tech receiver Tim Benford, a guy who could play bigger than he actually is. Then in the fifth round the Broncos have two picks (one gained from the Brandon Lloyd trade). With the second overall pick of the fifth round, the Broncos take quarterback Brandon Weeden, whose draft stock is all over the place right now. With the other fifth round pick, the Broncos take Wisconsin offensive tackle Josh Oglesby.

It's a nice collection of talent, but there's still so much time for everything to change.
