When it comes to selecting a player for the Denver Broncos in a 2012 NFL mock draft, a defensive tackle isn't much of a surprise. Most of the players that are selected, such as Jerel Worthy, Devon Still and Fletcher Cox, come as no surprise. However, Wes Bunting's latest mock over at the National Football Post has the Broncos winding up with Washington Huskies defensive tackle Alameda Ta'amu.

Bunting sees Ta'amu as a run-stuffer who doesn't offer much ability to get to the opposing quarterback. Yet, stuffing the run is exactly what the Broncos need from its defensive tackle:

Ta’amu isn’t going to create much of a pass rush, but he has the ability to win on run downs and get the Broncos defense into obvious pass rushing situations.

Ta'amu is 6 feet 3 and 341 pounds by most measurements and the Broncos do need to add some size at defensive tackle. This would be one way of accomplishing that.
