The Pittsburgh Steelers have indeed lost running back Rashard Mendenhall to a torn ACL suffered in Sunday's victory over the Cleveland Browns, reports Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. A torn ACL was surmised by many on Sunday night after the injury forced Mendenhall from the game during the first quarter. The surgery is expected to take place in 1-2 weeks, and it will only repair the torn ACL; nothing else was torn.
In Mendenhall's place steps Isaac Redman. He is one of two healthy running backs on the team. redman has just 91 carries for 387 yards, but the isn't going to see that much of a drop off from the position as Ben Roethlisberger should still be throwing for most of the game.
