The Denver Broncos' regular long snapper, Lonie Paxton, will miss the team's playoff game against New England while attending to a personal matter. He also missed several days of practice during the week. Perhaps to fill those shoes, the Broncos announced on Friday that the team has signed veteran long snapper David Binn, who spent 17 seasons with the San Diego Chargers.
Prior to this signing, Associated Press sportswriter Arnie Stapleton suggested that Russ Hochstein would probably serve as Denver's long snapper against the Patriots, but SB Nation Broncos blog Mile High Report expects Binn to get the nod.
Denver waived fullback Austin Sylvester to make room for Binn.
