2012 NFL Mock Draft: Would CB Stephon Gilmore Be A Good Selection For Broncos?

One thing the Denver Broncos have learned this season is that its secondary isn't getting any younger, and that certainly could lead the team to drafting a player from the secondary in the 2012 NFL Draft. Champ Bailey signed a long-term extension that will have him play out the rest of his Hall of Fame career with the Broncos. But beyond that there isn't much depth. Over at Mocking the Draft, a new mock draft has the Broncos selecting South Carolina cornerback Stephon Gilmore.

Mocking the Draft sees the same situation. Bailey is great, but Andre Goodman, Cassius Vaughn, Jonathan Wilhite and Chris Harris aren't a great supporting cast (though Harris was just an undrafted rookie this season and had some big moments throughout the season). Gilmore would give the Broncos a solid addition on the other side of the field:

Gilmore is a smart, athletic CB with good size who would be an excellent fit in Dennis Allen's scheme.

Gilmore is 6-foot-1 and 193 pounds and has eight career interceptions in three years with the South Carolina Gamecocks.
