Pittsburgh will be without RB Rashard Mendenhall for its playoff game against the Denver Broncos
The Pittsburgh Steelers will travel to Denver next weekend missing one of they key pieces to their offense, as both Adam Schefter of ESPN and Scott Brown of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review have reported that Rashard Mendenhall will miss the game after suffering a knee injury in the season-finale:
@AdamSchefter:Steelers HC Mike Tomlin said he does not expect RB Rashard Mendenhall to play the wild-card game vs. Denver
@ScottBrown_Trib:Mendenhall could have torn ACL, per Tomlin. He is expected to be out against the Broncos.
Although he didn't have his best season, Mendenhall will still be tough to replace for the Steelers. After rushing for a career-high 1,273 yards last season, Mendenhall wasn't able to crack the 1,000-yard marker prior to his injury. While the Mendenhall news wasn't good for Pittsburgh, the fact that Ben Roethlisberger made it through the season-finale unscathed should give the team a boost heading into the meeting with Denver.
