The Denver Broncos found their running game once again--well, at least on the first drive of the game. Willis McGahee, starting in place of Knowshon Moreno, had seven runs for 29 yards and the touchdown. McGahee went one yard for the score. The drive took 15 plays, 85 yards and 8-1/2 minutes to complete.
Kyle Orton went 5-of-6 for 48 yards while making all three completions on third down. However, after rookie tight end Julius Thomas caught a five-yard pass, he left the game with an ankle injury. His return is questionable.
The Bengals were unable to score on their first possession, but running back Cedric Benson averaged eight yards on his first three carries before he failed to convert a 3rd-and-1 situation. Rookie quarterback Andy Dalton did complete one pass for five yards on the drive.
