Four days after Denver Broncos rookie safety Rahim Moore delivered a crushing hit to Buffalo Bills wide receiver Donald Jones, the league fined him $20,000, according to the Denver Post's Lindsay H. Jones. Moore received a personal foul on the penalty and did not return to the game. Jones' head violently hit the ground after he and Moore had incidental helmet-to-helmet contact on the play.
In SB Nation Denver's informal, unscientific poll on the issue, an overwhelming majority of voters believed Moore delivered a clean hit on the play. Moore led with his shoulder while coming at Jones at full speed. It would have been tough for him to pull up short and not hit him.
Jones will miss the remainder of the preseason following his injury. The Broncos and the Bills have a regular season rematch on Christmas Eve this season. Marcell Dareus won't be the only Bills player looking to outshine the Broncos.

The Denver Broncos had their preseason game against the Buffalo Bills wrapped up at the end of the second quarter. At halftime, the Broncos led the Bills, 14-3. In the second quarter, Willis McGahee had two touchdowns, one rushing and one receiving. He caught a 20-yard screen pass to set up the rushing touchdown and grabbed a 13-yard touchdown pass from Kyle Orton.
Orton went 10-of-13 for 135 yards before he left at the two-minute warning. Brady Quinn entered the game and wound up throwing an interception in the waning seconds of the half. But he recovered in the second half and connected with Britt Davis for a 24-yard touchdown pass later in the third quarter. He finished the night with 10 completions in 16 attempts.
Tim Tebow played late in the fourth quarter, connected on one of two passes and had a seven-yard rush.
On defense, the Broncos were solid in the first half, but Perrish Cox was beat in the fourth quarter for a touchdown. Tyler Thigpen connected with Felton Huggins for a 13-yard touchdown. Von Miller and Marcell Dareus each picked up a sack.
The Broncos (1-1) host the Seattle Seahawks next week. The Bills (0-2) head back to Buffalo for a game with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Denver Broncos running back Willis McGahee is running on all cylinders in Saturday night's game against the Buffalo Bills. He's scored twice to put the Broncos up, 14-3, at halftime. He has a one-yard rushing touchdown and a 13-yard receiving touchdown. He had 20-yard reception on a screen pass that set up his first touchdown.
Kyle Orton went 11-of-14 for 142 yards and a touchdown and played until the two minute warning. Brady Quinn entered the game for his first action, but he wound up throwing an interception on the drive. Brandon Lloyd is the leading receiver with 55 yards on four receptions.
The defense has been strong so far with a Von Miller sack and a D.J. Williams sack. Miller started the game with his hand on the ground and played there throughout the first half. Bills quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick has just 44 yards on 6-of-17 passing.

The Denver Broncos lead the Buffalo Bills, 7-3, after Willis McGahee made a goal line run for he end zone. A 20-yard screen pass to Willis McGahee from Kyle Orton at the end of the first quarter set up the eventual score, though McGahee was denied on his first attempt. Steven Hauschka kicked the extra point.
Orton is 6-of-8 for 78 yards while McGahee's partner in crime, Knowshon Moreno, has 11 rushing yards on three carries. The offensive line has looked like a good unit so far, which Moreno and McGahee will need to succeed.
Rookie Von Miller recorded a sack in the first quarter. Bills rookie Marcell Dareus also has a sack, keeping pace with the No. 2 pick. They will continue to play into the second quarter.
Brady Quinn may see some playing time in the second quarter, but he will definitely be out there in the second half.

To mild surprise, Denver Broncos quarterback Brady Quinn has been elevated to the No. 2 quarterback position behind starter Kyle Orton. Tim Tebow will be the No. 3 quarterback for the game. This move has been widely speculated over the last week. Quinn and Tebow have shared second-team reps in practice, but Quinn's performance in last week's preseason game with the Dallas Cowboys played into this decision.
Orton is expected to play most of the first half, if not all of it. Head coach John Fox was coy about the playing rotation after Orton, and it still unknown how much playing time Quinn will receive. Does he get the entire third quarter? Will he play into the fourth quarter? Tebow certainly deserves some playing time as well.
This move should also contain some caution. Though Tebow is the No. 3 quarterback for this game, it doesn't mean that he will move down on the next depth chart release. If Quinn struggles against the Bills' second-teamers, Tebow will look to hold his ground.
