Tim Tebow Battling Brady Quinn For Broncos' No. 2 QB Slot

Stay connected for news and updates

While SI's Peter King believes that Kyle Orton may still be traded to the Miami Dolphins, he is most definitely the Denver Broncos No. 1 quarterback right now. If you've been following the Twitter accounts of the Denver Post's Lindsay Jones and MaxDenver.com's Andrew Mason, Orton is taking the first-team reps and looking like the opening day starter.

Meanwhile, Brady Quinn and Tim Tebow are battling to be his backup--at least for now. Mike Klis of the Denver Post reports that the competition between the two quarterbacks is close. Quinn has played with the second-string team occasionally, though Tebow is still getting most of the time there.

This should come as no surprise and John Elway and John Fox always said that there would be a quarterback competition during training camp. Quinn, who was never given a real chance in 2010, is benefiting from this competition, but there is still so much time left for things to settle.
