Kyle Orton On Trading Block, According To Report

With NFL teams able to talk with each other about making trades on Tuesday morning, the Denver Broncos could soon send quarterback Kyle Orton out of their Dove Valley facilities and across the country. According to the Denver Post's Mike Klis, the team will indeed, after much offseason speculation, listen to offers for the Broncos' quarterback the past two seasons.

Klis, however, doesn't see it as a forgone conclusion that Orton will be traded. He believes that if the team is unable to trade Orton, Tim Tebow will need to take a seat to him for a year. At $7.379 million this season, Orton would be one expensive and likely upset backup.

But there does appear to be a market for Orton, as he is an alternative to Kevin Kolb, who is considered the top-available quarterback. The Eagles are looking for a first-round pick for Kolb and that deal will likely get done shortly after trades can occur at 8 a.m. MT. Orton would be the backup plan for those who lose out.
