Denver Broncos general manager Brian Xanders took some time out of his busy schedule to talk with our Broncos blog, Mile High Report. Here's a highlight from the conversation:
It was a collaboration of a lot of work a lot of people put in. We involved our coaches a lot more - it felt like there was a lot of good chemistry there as we drew up the draft board and it really made it easy on Draft Day to take the right guys.
As the talk goes on, Xanders reiterates that they stuck to the draft board, especially when it came to defensive tackles. It appears the team has plenty of faith in Kevin Vickerson, Marcus Thomas, Ryan McBean and whoever will be signed in free agency.
Specifically on No. 2 overall draft pick Von Miller, Xanders said that the pass-rusher will act a linebacker on the first two downs and then put a hand on the field for the third down. He'll start from Day 1.
