2011 NFL Draft Results: Portland State TE Julius Thomas Drafted By Denver Broncos

Stay connected for news and updates

The Denver Broncos traded back into the fourth round of the 2011 NFL Draft by sending Nos. 141 (fifth round) and 186 (sixth round) to the Green Bay Packers for Nos. 129 and 204 (seventh round). With the 129th overall pick, the Broncos selected Portland State tight end Julius Thomas. He was a First Team All-Big Sky in 2011 with 29 receptions, 453 yards and two touchdowns. He was a four-year basketball player as well and had a school record 66.3 shooting percentage.

The Broncos are in need of a pass-catching tight end, as Daniel Graham is gone (and was more of a blocker) and Richard Quinn and Dan Gronkowski have yet to make waves.
