After the Denver Broncos defeated the San Diego Chargers two weeks ago, 16-13 in overtime, one of the bits of trivia bandied about concerned Tim Tebow. The last time the Chargers had won a game was when Tebow played the second half against San Diego and ultimately failed in his comeback attempts. After that point, the Broncos went on a 5-1 run with Tebow as the quarterback and the Chargers were 0-6.
After Monday night's 38-14 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars, that six-game skid was snapped. Philip Rivers threw three touchdown passes and had nearly 300 passing yards. Ryan Mathews rushed for over 100 yards and had a score (as did Mike Tolbert). Malcom Floyd, Vincent Jackson and Antonio Gates caught 14 of Rivers' 22 completions. This was exactly the kind of win the team needed.
The win now has the Chargers tied with the Kansas City Chiefs, both with 5-7 records. The Broncos and the Oakland Raiders are tied for first, but the Broncos hold the tiebreaker with a better winning percentage against division teams.
