Kansas City Chiefs Injury Update: RB Jackie Battle Out Against Denver Broncos

Stay connected for news and updates

The Kansas City Chiefs will be without their top running back, Jackie Battle, in Sunday's game against the Denver Broncos. According to Josh Looney of KCChiefs.com, the fifth year pro out of Houston has been ruled out of the Week 17 matchup.

Battle leads the Chiefs with 597 rushing yards and 2 TDs, averaging 4.0 yards per carry. The Chiefs figure to give a hefty load to second year pro Dexter McCluster, the wide-receiver-turned-halfback averaging 4.5 yards per carry with 455 yards this year.

Looney also reports the Chiefs have named veteran safety Jon McGraw as doubtful. The nine-year veteran has 1.0 sack, 3 interceptions, and 6 pass deflections through nine starts in 2011. If McGraw is unavailable, the Chiefs will likely go with third-year pro Donald Washington.
