SI.com 2012 Prediction Has Broncos Challenging Tim Tebow With Veteran QB

Stay connected for news and updates

There's still one game left in the 2011 NFL regular season and it appears that the Denver Broncos are committed to Tim Tebow as the 2012 starting quarterback. However, that has not been explicitly stated by anyone. John Elway has come close to it, but he has stopped short of saying that Tebow is the clear-cut answer at the position. And that's why Sports Illustrated's Chris Burke predicts the Broncos will bring in a veteran to challenge Tebow in training camp and to hound him during the regular season.

I'll admit, it's not entirely a bad idea to bring in a veteran to challenge, but that still leaves the team with having to run two different playbooks. What really gets me about Burke's prediction is the names of quarterbacks he believes the Broncos could pursue:

There could be some intriguing names on the market for Denver, including Shaun Hill, Chad Henne, Josh Johnson or even Rex Grossman.

No, no, no and no. Live and die with Tim Tebow -- just die with the others.
