Denver Broncos Head Coach John Fox On Waiving Kyle Orton: 'Right Decision For Our Football Team'

Stay connected for news and updates

On Tuesday, the Denver Broncos announced that they had waived backup quarterback Kyle Orton. In a statement released after the decision was made public, Broncos head coach John Fox had this to say about the move:

"This was the right decision for our football team. We feel good about our quarterback group, and this gives Kyle an opportunity to help another team and showcase his talents."

There has been speculation that the Chicago Bears may be among the teams interested in acquiring Orton, though according to the Chicago Tribune's Brad Biggs, the Bears are all the way down at No. 30 in waiver priority, so an acquisition through the waiver process could be a difficult proposition.
