John Fox Is 'Tim Tebow's Biggest Fan'

Earlier in the week, Denver Broncos head coach John Fox made some comments to NFL.com's Jeff Darlington, who was allowed to be with Fox while game tape of Tim Tebow was viewed. Among the things Fox said were that Tebow was not a passer but a runner and that the team would be "screwed" if Tebow were running a regular offense.

But one day after the Broncos beat the New York Jets, Fox is singing a different tune. As Fox told reporters at his day-after presser, all he was trying to tell Darlington was that Tebow's abilities need to be translated to different offense that the ones preferred in the league. Tebow needs to work within his own system rather than adapting to another one.

Fox also went on to tell the media that Tebow is improving as a passer, a debatable issue but not one without its merits, and that he is "Tim Tebow's biggest fan." There are probably several thousand others claiming that same position, though.

John Fox on Tim Tebow: "Well, We Don't Have A Passer"

NFL coaches are notoriously secretive about the inner workings of their teams, so much so that nearly all of them cover their mouths when calling plays. Rarely does a reporter get the type of access that NFL.com's Jeff Darlington received when he was able to watch Denver Broncos head coach John Fox break down film of his new, Tim Tebow led offense. Fox has embraced some of the option concepts that Tebow ran under Urban Meyer at the University of Florida, and he seems to have a good reason for that, according to Fox:

Well, we don't have a passer. We have a runner. Not to say he can't pass at all, but we're recognizing his strengths

Although that might sound like something that you would think a team wouldn't want to admit, Fox embracing Tebow's skill set has the Broncos in a dead heat for the AFC West title. And, of course, video never lies, anyway.
