LaDainian Tomlinson Injury: NY Jets RB Unlikely To Practice Tuesday, Questionable For Thursday

Stay connected for news and updates

New York Jets running back LaDainian Tomlinson underwent an MRI on Monday after suffering a knee injury late in Sunday's 37-16 loss to the New England Patriots. The results failed to show any major damage, reports Manish Mehta of the NY Daily News. His MCL is "stretched," but the injury is not expected to impact him in the long term.

However, Mehta also reports that Tomlinson is likely to sit out of practice on Tuesday and is questionable to play on Thursday against the Denver Broncos. The short turnaround between Sunday and Thursday will make it a tough decision on whether Tomlinson will play.

If Tomlinson is unable to go, Joe McKnight is in position to take over as Shonn Greene's backup and third-down replacement.
