Stay connected for news and updates

It's a crowded injury report for the Detroit Lions, and running back Jahvid Best was held out of practice for the second consecutive day, but quarterback Matthew Stafford was able to take some snaps with the first team. According to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press, Stafford appeared ready for the game on Sunday:

Stafford officially is considered day-to-day, but he moved around effortlessly today and appears on track to play Sunday against the Denver Broncos.

Cornerback Chris Houston and tackle Gosder Cherilus were limited but returned to practice on Thursday after being unable to participate on Wednesday. Safety Vincent Fuller and defensive end Willie Young were also limited in practice Thursday.

Defensive tackles Nick Fairley and Sammie Hill missed Thursday's practice, as did wide receiver Rashied Davis and guard Rob Sims.
