Matthew Stafford Injury: Lions QB Non-Committal On Status For Sunday

Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford put on his pads, warmed up and threw to his receivers during practice on Wednesday, but that doesn't mean it's all clear ahead for the oft-injured quarterback. Beset with an ankle injury in a game against the Atlanta Falcons, Stafford couldn't give a clean answer on where he stands right now (via Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press):

"If I’m healthy enough to play I’m going to try to be out there. It’s yet to be seen if I can get to [th]at point but if I can then I want to play.

That doesn't sound too good, and head coach Jim Schwartz was even vaguer with his response, reports Lindsay Jones of the Denver Post:

"To be determined," Detroit head coach Jim Schwartz said Wednesday, laughing while on a conference call with Denver media.

Shaun Hill would take over for Stafford should Stafford be unable to go. A Shaun Hill vs. Tim Tebow duel won't be quite as good as a Stafford vs. Tebow one.
