Brandon Lloyd Trade Close Between Denver Broncos, St. Louis Rams, According To Report

With the Denver Broncos earnestly discussing trades on Sunday even with at least three teams, it appears that the St. Louis Rams are close to acquiring wide receiver Brandon Lloyd, reports Mike Klis of the Denver Post. According to to Klis' sources, Lloyd was told he did not need to report to Dove Valley on Monday.

The Rams were one of the first teams thought to be interested in Lloyd because of Josh McDaniels, the Rams' offensive coordinator. Under McDaniels in 2010, Lloyd had a league-high 1,448 receiving yards to go with 11 touchdown receptions. Lloyd has seen a diminished role in 2011 under new coach John Fox and his main quarterback, Kyle Orton, was benched in favor of Tim Tebow last week.

The Broncos had been asking for a third- to fifth-round pick for Lloyd, but there are no indications on what the possible return is should this trade go down.
