NFL Week Five: Denver Broncos At Baltimore Ravens - Broncos Lose To Ravens, 31-17, Go 2-3 On Season

The Broncos still can't run the ball and must rely on Kyle Orton for the team's offense. This does not make a winning recipe, as witnessed today. The Broncos have much to correct when they face the Jets next Sunday.

Denver Broncos Lose To Baltimore Ravens, 31-17; Now 2-3 On Season

Baltimore, MD (Sports Network) – Ray Rice rushed for 133 yards and two touchdowns on 27 carries and Baltimore scored the game’s first 17 points en route to a 31-17 triumph over Denver at M&T Bank Stadium.

Willis McGahee added a 30-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter and the Ravens piled up a season-high 233 yards on the ground in posting their third straight victory. The win gave Baltimore (4-1) sole possession of first place in the AFC’s North Division, one half-game ahead of idle Pittsburgh.

Quarterback Joe Flacco also had a rushing touchdown for the Ravens and completed 14-of-25 passes for 196 yards. Baltimore amassed 415 total yards and 28 first downs on the afternoon, while controlling the football for 36 minutes and 17 seconds.

Denver’s Kyle Orton threw for 314 yards and two touchdowns in the loss, his third straight outing with over 300 passing yards in a game. Brandon Lloyd hauled in both of Orton’s scoring strikes and finished with 135 yards on five catches.

Jabar Gaffney had a game-high nine catches totaling 87 yards for Denver (2-3), which came into the contest off a 26-20 road win at Tennessee.

Knowshon Moreno Will Not Play This Weekend Against Baltimore Ravens

The Denver Broncos’ backfield will be without running back Knowshon Moreno (hamstring) and fullback Spencer Larsen (ankle) for a second straight week as they have ruled both players out on Friday’s injury report.

Moreno practiced Wednesday after missing last week’s game because of the hamstring injury, but he was unable to practice the rest of the week.

Larsen didn’t practice all week and will miss his second consecutive game.

The only other two players on the injury report were LB Wesley Woodyard and CB Andre Goodman, both of whom are questionable for Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens.

Moreno "Questionable" For Sunday Against Baltimore

Running back Knowshon Moreno may have practiced yesterday, but that doesn’t mean he is 100% healthy. He is sitting today and is being listed as "questionable" for Sunday’s game against the Ravens.

Knowshon Moreno will not practice today, McDaniels said. "Questionable" would be the best way to describe his status for Sundayless than a minute ago via TweetDeck

Moreno’s injury struggles continue.
