Broncos Receive iPad Playbooks

On Thursday afternoon, the Denver Broncos received their new playbooks. But they aren't any ordinary playbook. They are iPad playbooks, which the team announced back in April.

Elliot Coffey tweeted an image of the backside:

It Might Be Too Late For The Rockies, But Not For Troy Tulowitzki, Says Rob Neyer

Rob Neyer of Baseball Nation has released his latest Mailbag video on the SB Nation YouTube channel and one of the questions concerns Troy Tulowitzki. Neyer thinks the funk Tulowitzki has been in to start the season isn't too concerning since it's still early in the season (when do we reach the point that we can't say that?) But he does think it's likely too late for the Rockies to compete for the National League West crown. Maybe a wild card spot, but even that might be too hard.

Check out the video below (roughly at the 6:00 mark):

Everyone Start (Stop?) Thinking About Peyton Manning Playing With A Neck Brace And A Cane

If one were ranking the quarterbacks in the league, where would Peyton Manning come in? Possibly at No. 6, as NFL.com's Jason Smith has placed him:

6) Peyton Manning, Denver Broncos: Stop thinking that Peyton's going to be playing with a neck brace and a cane. He'll still be Peyton, and we'll forget about his injury by the first preseason game.

Told not to think about that, it's all I can imagine. GAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!

Rodney Stewart Tears ACL, Will Miss 2012 NFL Season

Former Colorado Buffaloes running back Rodney Stewart tore his ACL during rookie minicamp with the Cincinnati Bengals earlier in May, reports Buffzone's Kyle Ringo. He will have surgery in June to fix the injury, but he will spend the remainder of the year on injured reserve. This is the second time he has torn an ACL.

The Bengals signed "Speedy" as an undrafted free agent shortly after the draft ended in April. With such a nickname, we can only hope that Stewart will have a speedy recovery, as the Ralphie Report writes.

Dick Monfort Doesn't Know All The GMs, But Thinks Dan O'Dowd Is Just Super

Colorado Rockies owner Dick Monfort is a busy man, which means he can't know the other 29 general managers in the majors. However, he does Dan O'Dowd and, well, Danny Boy is apparently just the best (via the Denver Post):

"He's a tremendous asset," Monfort said. "I can't think of a general manager in baseball that's as good as him. Granted, I don't know all of them. I do get a chance every once in a while to speak with them, but I just think (O'Dowd) is head and shoulders above everybody else."

All right, all right. Stop laughing. OK, laugh a bit more.

Look, if O'Dowd was head and shoulders above all the other GMs then the Rockies would be better than they have been over the last few seasons. Sure, he doesn't determine how the players he acquired actually, you know, play, but when failure is handed out when can dole it out to more than the individual. It spreads up top to the manager and the GM.

And to Monfort himself, as he points out.

2012 Preakness Video: Matt Gardner Breaks Down I'll Have Another's Victory

I'll Have Another has won the 2012 Preakness Stakes and is now one victory away from becoming the first Triple Crown winner in 34 years. Affirmed was the last horse -- and 11th overall -- to win that distinction back in 1978. While there have been others to challenge since then, it has ultimately proven unfruitful for those horses.

If you are in need of a quick recap of how I'll Have Another pulled out the victory on Saturday, Matt Gardner of And Down The Stretch They Come has broken down the victory in the video below:
