The Rams remained undefeated with a victory in the in-state battle.

The Colorado State Rams defeated the Denver Pioneers, 60-53, in an in-state battle at Magness Arena on Wednesday night.

Big man Colton Iverson led the way for the Rams, scoring 16 points while pulling down 13 rebounds. Dorian Green added 16 points of his own in the win, as Iverson and Green combined to shoot 12-20 from the field.

With just less than six minutes left, Denver finally cut its deficit to six points when a Cam Griffin layup made the score 47-41. But the Pioneers could not overcome their cold shooting, going a woeful 5-29 from behind the arc and shooting just 29.5 percent overall. Chase Hallam scored 19 points to lead Denver in the loss.

Wes Eikmeier added 13 points, while Pierce Hornung grabbed 11 rebounds in the win for the Rams, who move to 3-0 on the young season. Colorado State will travel to Seattle for its next game, against the Washington Huskies on Saturday.
