The Rams were selected to finish fourth in the conference, while the Air Force Falcons were picked to finish last.

The Mountain West Conference released its men's basketball preseason poll on Monday and selected the Colorado State Rams to finish fourth in the conference.

With 106 points in the poll, the Rams are listed just behind New Mexico, while San Diego State and UNLV each garnered first-place votes and are separated from the top spot by only two points. It is SDSU, though, that got the nod with 10 of the 18 first-place votes. At the very bottom of the list are the Air Force Falcons with just 27 points, the fewest of any team in the conference.

Also released on Monday was the preseason All-MWC team, but no Colorado State or Air Force players received the honor, as SDSU and UNLV earned the majority of the spots.

The Rams finished the 2011-12 season with a 20-12 record after losing in the first round of the 2012 NCAA Tournament to sixth-seeded Murray State.
