The Colorado State Rams look to bounce back after last week's loss, and may be doing so without Chris Nwoke for a second week.
The Colorado State Rams will look to bounce back from a rough outing last week as they travel to take on the San Jose State Spartans this Saturday. The game is a non-conference preview of what will be a conference matchup next year.
A week after the high of defeating rival Colorado, the Rams were rather soundly defeated by defending FCS national champion North Dakota State, 22-7, last Saturday. CSU may have to face the Spartans without the services of talented running back Chris Nwoke, who sat out last week's game after injuring his ankle against Colorado.
In Nwoke's absence, the Rams' running game suffered, netting just 72 yards on 24 carries. Donnell Alexander and CSU's offensive line will be facing the 18th-best defense in San Jose State, who is giving up just 266 yards per game.
The Spartans moved to 1-1 last week with a 45-13 win over UC-Davis, rebounding from a heartbreaking loss to Stanford in Week 1. Quarterback David Fales has completed 70% of his passes, while the SJSU run game averages 144 yards per game.
The game kicks off at 6 p.m. MT and will be available on ESPN3.com.
