With the first round, essentially the quarterfinals, out of the way, we can now move on to the semifinals of the 2012 Mountain West Conference Tournament. The winner of the tournament gets an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament, and the Colorado State Rams are still in the mix with four teams remaining.

Here are the two semifinal games to be played on Friday (and the bracket here):

7:00 p.m. MT: San Diego State vs. Colorado State

9:30 p.m. MT: New Mexico vs. UNLV

The winners of the two semifinal games will meet up on Saturday for the championship game, which will decide who gets the automatic bid. Colorado State last appeared in the NCAA Tournament in 2003, with their only tournament wins coming in 1969 and 1989.
