Freshman guard Cody Mann will leave the Colorado St. Rams and transfer to a different school according to interim coach Craig Smith. Here's what the 6-foot guard had to say about his decision to leave the program (via Kelly Lyell of the Coloadoan):
''I was just looking for a better opportunity somewhere closer to home,'' said Mann, who played sparingly in 16 games this season, scoring 10 points, grabbing nine rebounds and handing out eight assists. ''It was pretty hard for me this whole year being so far away from home and not playing much, because we were a guard-loaded team. And we're going to be that way next year, too, so nothing was going to change.''
Mann said he'll likely try to transfer to somewhere in Florida, and that Tim Miles' decision to leave Colorado State for the head coaching gig at Nebraska didn't play a part in his choice to leave school.
