Colorado St. Vs. San Diego State Final Score: Rams Deliver Excellent Performance In Upset Of SDSU

After two straight disappointing road losses in Mountain West play, Colorado St. knew it had to deliver an exceptional effort against No. 13 San Diego St. The Rams did exactly that, as they took advantage of a raucous crowd to pull of the 77-58 upset victory over the Aztecs.This victory marked the first win over a ranked opponent for CSU in nine years.

The Rams used an excellent defensive effort to control the potent San Diego St. offense. The Aztecs shot only 31.3 percent from the field in the loss. On the offensive end, Wes Eikmeier led the way with a team-high 19 points. Will Bell added 17 points, while Pierce Hornung controlled the paint with eight points and a team-high 13 rebounds.

In the loss, Jamaal Franklin was the lone player who was able to get anything going offensively. Franklin scored a game-high 24 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Chase Tapley and Xavier Thames both scored in double-figures, but combined to shoot only 5-of-28 from the field.

Colorado St. Vs. San Diego St. Score Update: Rams Build Impressive Halftime Lead

In perhaps its biggest game so far this season, Colorado St. delivered a memorable performance in the opening 20 minutes and holds a 40-28 halftime lead over No. 12 San Diego St. The Aztecs entered this game as the lone unbeaten team in the Mountain West Conference.

The Rams used a balanced offensive effort to grab the lead at the half. Seven different players scored for Colorado St., with Will Bell leading the way with 10 points. CSU did an excellent job taking care of the ball against the very aggressive San Diego St. defense, as it only turned the ball over four times.

Jamaal Franklin was the main offensive threat for the Aztecs in the opening 20 minutes. Franklin scored a team-high 12 points on 5/9 shooting and grabbed four rebounds. Tim Shelton proved to be a force in the paint, scoring six points and pulling down a team-high eight rebounds.
